Parents and Students: We have had many requests at Tahlequah High School for a work permit this year. This process takes time, so please be patient with us:) Students need a JOB first. After the student has accepted a job, the student is given a 600 form to fill out and bring back to the HS Office Manager. Along with the 600 form they will need to bring an accepted legal proof of age. Accepted legal proof of age forms are – Birth Certificate, Certificate of Baptism showing date of birth and place of baptism, passport showing the age, Certificate of arrival in the US issued by US Immigration Office showing age of child, Life insurance policy at least 1 year old showing age of child, or their CDIB Card. Step #2: when the 600 form is returned with the accepted proof of age form, the Principal then checks grades and attendance before the form is signed. Step #3: When the Principal has signed the form, then a copy of the 600 form that is completed and a new 601 form is then filled out by the THS Office Manager. A copy of the completed 600 form, 601 form, proof of age, and a copy of child labor laws is given to the student to return to the employer as proof that the student is not eligible to work. THS OFFICE MANAGER is Lindsay Castronovo her phone number is 918-458-4150 and her email is castronovoc@tahlequahschools.org THS PRINCIPAL is Natalie Cloud her phone number is 918-458-4150 and her email is cloudn@tahlequahschools.org Thank you and have a great day! The Varsity and JV Academic Team played four rounds of quiz bowl on Monday night. The JV team lost two rounds to Caney Valley, but they won their final two rounds against Coweta. The JV highlight of the night was sophomore Captain Sarah Siddique who helped score 140 points during two lightning rounds. Freshman Mason McCart did some heavy lifting in the lightning round of Asian capitals. Way to go, Mason! Finally, sophomore Iris Martin won the sudden death in the final round after several tie-breaking questions. Varsity also lost two rounds to Caney Valley, lost a third round to Coweta, and then came back with a vengeance in the final round against Coweta with a score of 230-130. Overall, the Varsity team scored a total of 590 points. The Varsity highlight of the night was junior Daniel Bright who slayed a lightning round on physics terms, scoring 70 points out of a possible 100. The Varsity team is grateful for the opportunity to compete in these friendly games as they prepare for the OSSAA District Seeding Tournament on Monday, October 14.

Good afternoon, everyone! We are thrilled to have you participate in this year’s Homecoming Parade. Here are some important details to ensure everything runs smoothly: 1. Lineup Time: Please arrive at your designated lineup spot by 12:30 PM. With over 80 entries, it’s crucial that everyone is in place on time. o Floats: Middle school parking lot o Vehicles: THS Student parking lot by the Math Commons 2. Parking: Only parade vehicles are allowed in the student parking lot. Parade vehicles need to park by the Math Commons entrance for a quick lineup. Mike Sheets and the entrance by the Tennis Courts will be closed to through traffic. 3. Photos: We understand the excitement of capturing memories! Please ensure vehicles are in their lineup spots before taking pictures. There will also be a free photo opportunity at the Homecoming Ceremony. 4. Candy Distribution: For safety reasons, candy must be handed out, not thrown, from floats or vehicles. 5. Decorations: We encourage you to decorate your vehicle or float to match the theme “Homecoming Inc! (Pixar).” All decorations must be school-appropriate. We have the right to ask that any inappropriate decorations be removed. 6. Parade Entry Order: Attached is the list of parade entries in order. This is not your guaranteed spot. If you are not in your lineup location when your number is called, you will be placed at a different spot. Lineup spots may change on the day of the parade due to late entries. 7. Weather: It will be very hot. Please bring sunscreen and water. You can also bring an umbrella to provide shade. 8. Quiet Zone: The Quiet Zone will be the last block of the parade from Choctaw to Chickasaw. Please do not use sirens or make any loud noises in this area. We are very excited for this year’s Homecoming and know it will be our best one yet! If you have any questions, please let us know.
