Heritage Elementary has had a productive and busy first semester and we are looking forward to some fun-filled events this spring.

On January 28th, the House of Reveur proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Talent Showcase, an exciting celebration of creativity and courage. The event featured two 45-minute shows, highlighting the talents of 47 participants who amazed their families and friends. From heartfelt singing and energetic dancing to hilarious comedy acts, the showcase was a vibrant display of the students’ incredible skills and bravery. This event continues to be a valued opportunity for our students to shine and share their passions with the community.

We’re excited to highlight a cherished tradition of the Amistad House centered around Valentine’s Day. For the past four years, Amistad has led a school-wide effort to create cards for residents of local nursing homes. This initiative allows our students to spread kindness and bring joy to community members who may not receive much attention during the holidays. On Wednesday, February 12th, Amistad leaders and House Council members will personally deliver these cards to the nursing homes, continuing this meaningful tradition.

For the second year in a row, each house will host its own exciting family night, creating opportunities for connection and fun. On February 6th, Amistad will kick things off with a Valentine’s Day Dance. Next, on March 6th, Isibindi will host the “Bindi BBQ and Cornhole Tournament”. On April 10th, Altruismo will bring everyone together for Bingo Night, followed by Reveur's "Rolling with Reveur" skate night on May 8th. These house events are designed to strengthen family-like bonds and provide special memories for students and their families to enjoy together.

We will celebrate Read Across America Week from March 3rd to March 7th, with a variety of activities designed to inspire a love of reading. The week will feature fun dress-up days and special events in the classrooms. As part of our school-wide celebration, families are invited to join us by visiting classrooms to share and read their favorite books with the students, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

House Council is excited to partner with our local animal shelter once again this year. Starting in February, Heritage will be accepting a variety of donation items, from food to blankets and toys. The shelter is deeply grateful for any contributions that help support the care of the animals. Donations can be dropped off at the front office.

Our annual PTO Jog-A-Thon is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, March 11th. We look forward to once again coming together with our amazing community to raise funds for our school. Thanks to your generosity over the past two years, we’ve enhanced our playgrounds with swing sets, soccer goals, and a GaGa Ball Pit. This year, we’re aiming to install a Pickleball court, and we need your help to make it happen! Be sure to mark your calendars and save the date for this exciting event. Together, we can make this year’s PTO Jog-A-Thon a huge success!
